Win Smarter With Past Performance
The Past Performance tab turns your completed work into formatted past performance documents you can drop into any bid packet. The video above shows how to build them, and who is allowed to count as experience.
What counts as past performance
More than you might think:
- Private industry work. Cleaned offices for a local business but never for the government? Document it.
- Subcontractor history. If a subcontractor is on your team for the bid, you can legally use their past performance.
- Every new win. As you land contracts, add them and your library compounds.
What goes in each document
Project title, the point of contact who can verify the work, a description, dates, initial cost and any add-ons, whether it finished on time, and feedback from whoever was in charge. Generate Document formats it cleanly; you can edit, brand, download, or regenerate any of them whenever you need.
No past performance yet?
Plenty of solicitations on SAM.gov never ask for past performance documents at all, and contracting officers sometimes give first-timers a shot on smaller contracts. Bid anyway. For the full strategy, read our complete past performance guide and how small businesses win federal work.
